What to Expect
Getting a filling is a straightforward procedure that is typically completed in a single visit.
We'll first gently numb the tooth with local anesthetic to ensure you're comfortable throughout the procedure. The decayed portion of the tooth is then carefully removed while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.
Once the tooth has been cleaned, a custom-matched composite resin is placed in layers, shaped to restore the tooth's natural contours, and hardened using a specialized curing light. Before you leave, we'll check your bite, make any necessary adjustments, and polish the filling so it blends seamlessly with your natural tooth.
How Do I Know If I Need a Filling?
Many cavities don't cause symptoms in their early stages and are often discovered during routine dental exams before they become painful.
